Next Generation Raceway for Today’s Power Needs

Starline Plug-In Raceway was created to meet the ever-changing power distribution and Datacom needs of research, pharmaceutical, and university labs, as well as hospitals and data labs. Though it may look like other raceway products, Starline Plug-In Raceway has the unique ability to add or relocate plug-in modules anywhere on the raceway quickly and easily.

With sustainable lab design at the center of the development concept, Starline’s innovative, reconfigurable design offers a flexibility that no other product on the market offers- completely eliminating the added cost of an electrician to reconfigure circuits, receptacles and wiring. With Plug-In Raceway, you have the advantage of arranging your electrical outlets based upon the needs of your workspace, not arranging your workspace based around your electrical outlets. In addition, you also have the freedom to move around equipment or change a workflow layout without having to worry about having a connection to power.

As well as being reconfigurable, Starline Plug-In Raceway has been tested to meet NEC, IEC and UL standards and has the ETL mark. The raceway has a compact design and is aesthetically appealing; built with a smooth aluminum finish that is available in black, white, metallic silver, or custom colors. In addition to being reliable and attractive, Plug-In Raceway is extremely easy to install—taking about one third less time to install than similar products—and little to no maintenance is required.



The traditional power version of Plug-In Raceway consists of an extruded aluminum backplane with an insulated strip containing copper busbars. The aluminum extrusion acts as a 100 percent ground path, and each housing section is enclosed by a number of cover pieces and plug-in modules. The system is rated at 20 or 60 amps, for continuous duty at 240 volts.


Power & Data

Each section of the power & data Plug-In Raceway consists of a two-channel extruded aluminum housing. The power channel contains an insulated strip containing copper busbars. The second channel—the data channel—provides a safe, hidden cavity to run all Datacom cables.

The aluminum extrusion acts as a 100 percent ground path, and each housing section is enclosed by a number of cover pieces and plug-in modules. The system is rated at 20 or 60 amps, for continuous duty at 240 volts.


Elbows & Feeds

Elbow sections are used to accommodate changes of direction in a layout. All elbows come with two connector body keepers to easily connect to adjacent sections and cover pieces. Elbows are also designed to be field-cut for jobsite fitting, if needed.

There are two options for supplying power to the raceway: the universal end feed unit to connect power to the busbars at the end of a run, and the universal center feed unit to connect power to the busbars in the center of a run. Both of these options are completely inconspicuous, simple to assemble and can be field customized as required.

Joint Kits

Joint kits exist to make electrical and mechanical connections between raceway sections. These kits consist of a bus connector which locks into place between adjoining sections, a bus connector keeper which is then positioned over top of the bus connector and screwed to the backplane- making mechanical and equipment ground connections, and a 10 inch piece of cover to enclose the joint.

Plug-In Modules

Starline Plug-In Raceway offers a variety of plug-in modules that are used to tap off power from along the raceway busbars. Modules include a cover, a plug head, and molded in snaps that are used to secure the module onto the raceway backplane. Modules can be easily removed by pressing in release buttons to disengage the molded in snaps. An optional locking mechanism is also available to make the modules completely tamper proof. 

While standard modules come fully equipped with receptacle and circuit breaker, a variety of combinations of the two are also available.
